General Notes: Husband - John Lindsay Duffield

---

He was reared on the home place in French Creek township, Venango county, PA, and received his education in the common schools. He remained under the parental roof until twenty-three years of age, when he began farming for himself, and in 1868 purchased a place a short distance south of Utica. Politically Mr. Duffield was a Democrat and cast his first ballot for James K. Polk for the presidency. [HVC 1890, 1011]
