He was born in Ireland, and came to America at the age of eighteen years. He made his home in Belmont County, Ohio, and there followed his trade of linen weaving and was a farmer, and died there at the advanced age of ninety-four years. He was a Democrat politically, and he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church.
