General Notes: Husband - Ransom M. Day

At the age of nineteen he entered the Southwestern State Normal School at California, Pennsylvania, and was graduated therefrom July 1, 1891; also graduated in the commercial course at the Duquesne College, Pittsburgh, June 22, 1892.

He was reared in Amwell Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he attended the common schools, afterwards taking a course at Duquesne College, and later graduating with the class of 1891 from the State Normal School at California, Pennsylvania. He then taught school for four years, after which he spent five years in Pittsburgh as assistant superintendent of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. After this he was engaged in contract drilling for different coal companies in western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
