General Notes: Husband - Joseph Gilmore
He was a resident of York County, Pennsylvania, until his removal to western Pennsylvania, where he settled on tract of wild land lying on the line dividing Butler from Venango County. He cleared his land, converting the timber into lumber as far as practicable.
There seems to be some confusion as to his ancestry. There were many Gilmore families that immigrated to America from Ireland at various times; GPHAV connects this person to a Gilmore family from Somerset County and Washington County, Pennsylvania, but the connection seems mistaken.
