He was the founder of Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
His son-in-law, Dr. Colhoun, built a fine stone mansion north of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, and that was where Col. Benjamin Chambers died while on a visit to his daughter.
