Elmer C. Adams, 78, native of Scottland and later a Detroit newspaperman, died at Kentucky Baptist Hospital, Louisville, KY. Since 1959 he had lived in Louisville after retiring from the Detroit News where he had been employed as a writer for 33 years. He is survived by a son, Carl, a physics professor at the University at Louisville; a sister, Mrs. Inez Porter of LA, Calif. and a grandson. Funeral held Sept 30, at the Highland Funeral Home.

In addition to his writing "Random Shots" for the News he was best known for his serial "The Inland Treasure" and his book "Walking in the Clouds."
