General Notes: Husband - Charles Wesley McMinn


He attended the public schools, and taught one year; and when twenty-two years old came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he attended the Iron City Commercial College. He then taught in what was the Twenty-first ward of Pittsburgh for eight years, it being in Collins township during the first three years. For several years he was clerk in a dry-goods store in Pittsburgh, and in 1882 built and stocked his own store on Centre street, Brushton, a continuation of Tioga street, Pittsburgh. He took up his residence there in 1872, and held a number of township offices. He was formerly a republican, later a democrat. He was a trustee in the M. E. Church, of which his wife was a member. He was a member of the A. O. U. W., of the R. A. and of the Order of Solon.
