General Notes: Husband - James Rayburn

He was born in the Ligonier valley, Pennsylvania, and in 1797 removed to Armstrong County, settling in what is now North Buffalo township. The farm which he purchased, cleared and improved remained in the family for over one hundred years, descending in the direct line for four generations. He lived to advanced age, dying in 1837. In politics he was a Democrat, in religion a member of the United Presbyterian Church (whose members were once known as Seceders).

He and his wife had seven children, six of whom grew to maturity.
