He passed through the Greensburg public schools, graduating from the high school in 1927. Then attending Washington and Jefferson College, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1931. During his four years in college, he was a member of the track and swimming teams. After returning home from college, Mr. Jeffery, with C. I. Hug, organized the Peerless Gasoline Company of Greensburg. His father, Wallace W. Jeffery was president of the company; Mr. Jeffery was vice-president.
A member of the Republican party, Mr. Jeffery was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg. He belonged to Greensburg Lodge, No. 511, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Greensburg Kiwanis Club, the Latrobe Country Club and Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
