General Notes: Husband - James Banks Wilson


He entered his father's store at the age of fourteen. In 1855, he and his brother Lucien bought a store, a mill, and a farm property at Oakland Mills, and continued in partnership until 1888, when they sold out to Samuel and James Wilson. Mr. J. B. Wilson was, in 1889, elected vice-president of the First National Bank at Mifflintown. In 1892, he was elected president, making his home at Oakland Mills.
He was a Presbyterian. He was a staunch Republican, and served as county commissioner for multiple terms.
