General Notes: Husband - Leman Carson
He received his education at the schools of his native township, and was reared to agricultural pursuits under the preceptorship of his father. He successfully engaged in general farming, including stock raising. His political preferences were Democratic, and he was an active party man.
He was reared on the old home place and secured his education in the schools of the neighborhood. He was numbered with the successful agriculturists of the township and did a large amount of business in wool, raising Merino sheep for this special purpose. He also had several producing oil wells. He was a director in the Farmers' National Bank of Claysville. For a number of years he was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Claysville, in which he was an elder.
