General Notes: Husband - Nelson R. Bushnell

Hartford, OH

He read law in the office of John Hutchins, Esq., of Warren, Ohio, and was admitted to the practice in Venango County, Pennsylvania, in the year 1843. For some years he enjoyed a fairly remunerative business, but in 1861 retired from the profession and engaged in other pursuits.

Of a diffident disposition, which kept him aloof from the public, he did not readily attract clients. After some years of practice, he accepted the office of Justice of the Peace, and was frequently appointed by the Court to positions requiring a knowledge of the law. [FCCV, 81]
