He removed from Jamestown, Virginia, in the year 1721, a relative of the extensive family of Burwells in America, for­merly from Bedford and North Hampton, England. One of his ancestors was of the Virginia deputation, in the year 1646, to invite the fallen monarch, James I., to come to America for protection against the rebellious Puritan subjects.
