General Notes: Husband - Dorsey P. Burtner


He was educated in the public schools of Jefferson Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, Grove City College, and Butler Business College. His first position was that of stenographer with the Oil Well Supply Company, at Pittsburgh. He was in Texas for this company for three years, and in 1907 came to Butler as bookkeeper in their offices. In 1921 Mr. Burtner was promoted to the position of manager.
Mr. Burtner was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, in which he was an active worker. He held various church offices, having been Sunday school superintendent and an elder. He was also a trustee. Fraternally he was affiliated with the United Commercial Travelers, Butler Lodge No. 272, F. and A. M.; Butler Chapter, R. A. M., No. 273, past high priest; Allegheny Council No. 27, R. S. M. M.; Lorain Commandery, K. T., No. 87; Pennsylvania Consistory, thirty-second degree, Valley of Pittsburgh; Syria Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S., Pittsburgh; Syria Caravan No. 14, Butler, A. A. O. N. M. S., and Butler Board of Commerce. Politically he was a Republican.
