General Notes: Husband - William Carmichael
Sandy Lake Breeze, Sandy Lake, PA, June 23, 1916:
"William Carmichael-At the close of a peaceful summer day God's messenger came and gently laid his hand on the strong brow of the loved husband, father and friend. His going was as peaceful as the ending day, quiet as had been his life in our midst. To him had been given more than the 'three score years and ten.' From early youth he had walked in the footsteps of his Master. For more than fifty years the embers of faith and prayer have been kept glowing on the family alter which he erected when he laid the foundations of his home. His life was characterized by high ideals and a reverence for the temple of his body. His memory will always be associated with the cause of temperance in all its phases. He keenly felt that he was his brother's keeper. In the church he had been a potent factor. For fifty years he had been a teacher in the Sunday School. For much of the same time he had been a Class Leader. In the home he was a true husband and a kind father. William Carmichael was born in 1837 and was a son of Aaron and Margaret Henderson Carmichael, pioneers of Mercer County. He was one of twelve children."
