General Notes: Husband - Livingston LeGrand Hunter
He attended the home schools and later, the Pennsylvania Military Academy at West Chester, and Oberlin College, graduating from the latter institution in 1882. His business education was obtained from his association with his father and he proved an apt pupil. Gradually the large business interests of the father were delegated to the son and when the elder Mr. Hunter died in 1897, his son easily assumed the entire responsibility of a large and growing business, carrying out with conscientious fidelity every idea and plan both in business and charitable enterprises originated by his father. After his death his wife and mother followed the same plan in trying to fulfill the wishes of the elder Mr. Hunter.
He met a tragic death when the steamer "Pittsburg" was destroyed by fire near Cairo, on the Mississippi River.
