He lived at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Was lawyer to Bell Telephone Co. and Edison Electic Light Company and was one of the most eminent corporation lawyers of that city. Was Secretary of Union League Club a number of years. Was an elder in Walnut Street Presbyterian Church and Superintendent of Sunday School. Was a paymaster in the U. S. Navy during the Civil War.
