General Notes: Husband - John Burns
He and his wife were among the earliest settlers of Findlay township,
He attended the rate schools, afterward supplementing this early training with a good practical education. He learned the cooper's trade, which he followed for some time. He followed farming for many years in connection with his trade, and lived to a ripe old age. In politics he was a lifelong Whig, and in religion he and his wife were members of Hopewell Presbyterian Church, of which he was an elder for some years. Both were buried in the cemetery of that church.
