General Notes: Husband - Henry Abrams
He was a native of Wales. He emigrated to America at a very early day, locating near Staunton, Virginia. He was a mariner by occupation. After some years' residence there, he removed to Turkey Foot township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, (about 1768), where he owned a farm of sixty-six acres. He served as a lieutenant in the Revolutionary war.
He was a Welsh sailor. He came to America settling first near Staunton, Virginia, in 1750. He moved to Turkey Foot, then in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, later known as Confluence, in Somerset County, where in 1765 he built the first log cabin in that section.
In 1779 he was a first lieutenant in the 1st Battalion of organized militia of Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
