General Notes: Husband - Walter Morris
He attended the public schools of Butler, Pennsylvania. He started his business career as a clerk in Ruff's Shoe Store, Butler, where he remained eight years. He left that store to become manager for the Leader Store's shoe department, which position he held for four years. Mr. Morris then entered business for himself and established the Morris Boot Shop in 1922. This shop was located at 116 East Jefferson Street, where Mr. Morris employed three people, and carried a complete line of shoes.
He was a Republican and belonged to the Grace Methodist Church. In 1925 Mr. Morris was a candidate for mayor of Butler, but was defeated by Mayor Wick. Fraternally he was affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias, Masonic Lodge, Consistory, as well as a member of the Lions Club and Board of Commerce.
