General Notes: Husband - Robert Crispen Shorts
He came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, with his parents in 1830. His education was restricted to such advantages as the schools of the locality then afforded, and he was reared to farming, which he followed all his life. He and his wife were members of the Church of God. Politically, he became a Republican when the party was organized, and he was always deeply interested in public questions. [CAB, 629]
