General Notes: Husband - William H. Buell

---

He was educated in the district schools of the region, and as a young man was taught the trade of wagon making by his father. The elder man removed from Laughlinstown to Waterford, Ligonier township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and had his wagon shop there, and there his son worked for a number of years in the employ of his father. He then purchased the old shop at Laughlinstown and continued in business there on his own account, prospering highly. The old shop stood on the site of his later residence and he built another shop in the alley back of his lot.
In addition to his carriage making business, Mr. Buell added that of auctioneer, and he officiated at the majority of auction sales in the region for a period of twenty years or more.
Mr. Buell was a staunch Republican in his politics and held the position of judge of election for a number of years. In his religious belief he was a member of the Christian, or Disciples, church, of Laughlinstown.
