General Notes: Husband - John Hanna McAllister
He went to school at Downingtown, Pennsylvania. He was in the lumber business and had a saw mill at Harrisburg, between what became known as State and South streets, near the river, afterwards was a partner of John B. Cox. Being in ill health, and advised to try the climate of Minnesota, he removed to that state, and investing largely in real estate amassed a large fortune. He was one of the pioneers of St. Paul, and the owner of tracts of the most valuable land in the city.
