General Notes: Husband - Maj. David Caldwell
He inherited the central portion of his father's farm, whereon his father resided at the time of his decease.
He was a major in the Pennsylvania State militia, and commonly called Maj. David, and was an active participant in public affairs of the time. He at an early age became a member of the Presbyterian Church, and was, on the 26th day of September, A.D. 1787, at a meeting of the Hart's Log congregation, selected one of a committee of three "to direct the private expenses of the congregation," and continued to act in that capacity until 1797, when a board of trustees, under a charter, or act of incorporation, that year secured, were elected for that purpose, and was in May, 1796, elected an elder of the said congregation.
General Notes: Wife - Rebecca Dean
She was one of four siblings who were in the cornfield with their father at the time their mother and the rest of his family were murdered by the Indians in 1780, and who, with their father, fled to Lytle's Fort.
