General Notes: Husband - Simon Brinker

Civil War: he enlisted in August, 1862, in the 142nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.
He and his brother Joseph were both wounded at the battle of Fredericksburg in December, 1862. He recovered sufficiently to rejoin his regiment, but was again wounded, only slightly, at Appomattox Court House, the last great battle of the war. After the close of hostilities he went to Defiance County, Ohio, where he was killed in a saw mill by a heavy log which rolled on him.
