He graduated from Amherst College in 1892 with the degree of B. S. He was instructor in Lakewood School for Boys in 1892-93; also in Shadyside Academy, Pittsburgh, in 1893-94. He graduated as M. D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1898; was an interne in Atlantic City Hospital and Altoona Hospital in 1898-99; began practice at Franklin, PA, in 1899.
