General Notes: Husband - James Madison Porter
He acquired his education in the public schools of Rochester township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and when he had completed it he became manager of the family farm which had been conducted as a dairy farm for many years. Later he purchased the interests of the other heirs, and continued it as a dairy farm, thirty-five years all told. In 1911 he sold the dairy rights, and converted it into a fruit and general truck farm, and cultivated it along those lines thereafter. He took no active part in the public affairs of the community, but cast his vote in the interests of the Republican party.
