General Notes: Husband - Joseph A. Burger
He received a common school education, finishing at the Laird Institute, Murraysville, Pennsylvania. He taught school fifteen terms, being well qualified for that vocation, and in 1888 entered the mercantile business at Manor Station with his brother, Zephaniah N. Burger. He was a member of the Reformed church, in which he served as deacon. Mr. Burger was a Democrat, was burgess of Manor one term and also served as school director. He was a member of Manor Council, No. 716, Royal Arcanum.
