General Notes: Husband - Jonathan Buffington
He owned and operated a gristmill at North Brook, near the site of the battle of the Brandywine. At the time of that battle (Sep-tember, 1777) this mill was taken possession of by the British troops, and the non-combatant Friend compelled to furnish food for the British.
