General Notes: Husband - Ephraim Buffington
He kept a hotel at West Chester, Pennsylvania, at a tavern stand known as the "White Hall," a venerable hostelry, and well known throughout that region for many years. About 1813, in hopes of bettering his fortunes in the then West, he left Ches-ter County, went over the mountains and settled at Pine creek, about five miles above Pittsburgh, on the Allegheny river.
