General Notes: Husband - John M. Brinker
He lived in Butler County, Pennsylvania, nearly all his life, and there followed the occupation of farming until late in life when he migrated to Defiance County, Ohio, where his death eventually occurred.
Shortly after his marriage, he went to Vanderburg County, Indiana, and settled at a point one mile from the town of Evansville - an area which is now covered by that city. Here he remained for a number of years, farming and operating a boat on the Ohio river. In the year 1842, however, he returned to Pennsylvania and settled in Westmoreland County, about seven miles southwest of Ligonier, in the Ligonier Valley, where he became the possessor of a tract of land consisting of some four hundred and sixty-seven acres, which was given to him by his father. He remained at this place until 1873, a period of thirty-one years, having in that time converted what was very poor soil into a fertile and productive farm. In the latter year, however, he went to Hicksville, Defiance County, Ohio, and settled on a farm about three miles outside of that place. Here he remained for a number of years and at last, as an old man, moved into the town of Hicksville, where eventually his death occurred.
