General Notes: Husband - Lt. Joseph Horton
He owned property at Southold in 1653, but in 1665 had removed from Southold to Rye, Westchester County, New York, at that time included in the Connecticut colony. In 1667 he was appointed lieutenant. He was deputy from Rye to the Connecticut general court in 1672, and was one of the commissioners to determine the boundary between New York and Connecticut in 1674. He was commissioner from Rye from 1680 to 1683.
He was born in England, accompanied his parents to America and, when grown to manhood, settled at Rye, Westchester County, New York. In 1678 he was a lieutenant, and later captain, of a militia company.
