General Notes: Husband - Capt. Samuel Loudon
At his father's death he was adopted into the family of John Montgomery, who settled in Franklin township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, in 1818, purchasing a large tract of land. When Samuel was twenty-five years old he married and rented a farm at White Oak Springs, which he cultivated for three years. In 1836 Mr. Montgomery gave him a farm in Clay township, and he at once located on it.
Captain Loudon commanded Company C, Eleventh Pennsylvania Reserve, and was discharged in October, 1863, because of disability.
