General Notes: Husband - John Broadfoot

The Broadfoot family came to Pennsylvania early in the 1800s, and they found a home in its northwestern corner. The family name is chiefly known and localized in Wigtonshire, though frequently met with in other parts of Scotland. The Broadfoots were a numerous family that came from a distinguished Scotch ancestry, of which they were very proud.

John Broadfoot came from Oil creek. He came first to build Colonel McDowell's house, then settled down himself as a citizen, and never lacked employment as a carpenter. He became one of the first elders in the Presbyterian church. [HVC 1890, 349]
