General Notes: Husband - Samuel S. Dice
He was born in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and removed to Ligonier with his father when about ten years of age. He acquired his education in the public schools and after putting aside his textbooks assisted his father in the store until he was about twenty-three years of age. He then established a barber shop, which he then conducted, and his large patronage brought him a good income. Like his father Mr. Dice gave his political allegiance to the Democratic party. He was elected chief burgess of Ligonier by an overwhelming majority, notwithstanding the fact that the borough was a strong Republican center. He belonged to the Methodist Episcopal church of Ligonier, and was a member of Ligonier Lodge, No. 964, I. O. O. F.
