General Notes: Husband - Caspar Hockenberry
He was born on the Hockenberry homestead, in Worth township, Butler County, PA. He obtained a common school education, and was reared a farmer. In 1864 he purchased seventy-five acres in Franklin township, to which he later added the same amount, and resided on that farm for many years. He was also the owner of 100 acres in Connoquenessing township. In 1891 oil was discovered upon his farm in Franklin township, which eventually contained ten producing wells, which brought him a comfortable competence. He was a stanch Democrat, and was a member of the Baptist church.
