General Notes: Husband - George Bryan

---

His education was received under the usual uncertain conditions of those days, but was nevertheless thorough in its basic principles. In his latter life he was very prominent in the politics of Pennsylvania and held the office of clerk of the state senate for some time, and afterwards had the honor of being auditor-general under three Pennsylvania governors: Governor McKean, Governor Snyder and Governor Findley, retiring in the year 1821. Immediately after this he was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor, but was defeated.
