General Notes: Husband - Jacob Zimmerman
The name Zimmerman is of German origin, and is one of the earliest found in the German settlements of Pennsylvania.
He came to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, from Albany township, which is about twenty miles north of Reading in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and reached Westmoreland County in 1800. He purchased a farm from Richard Tunnis, of Philadelphia, for three dollars per acre. This farm was located about two and one-half miles southeast of Greensburg.
He and his wife were members of the Lutheran church of Greensburg.
