General Notes: Husband - Cyrus Rings Withrow

He was born in Cook township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and attended the schools of that township and also those of Ligonier. For a number of years he was an instructor in the schools, and also assisted his father on the farm. In the course of time he became the possessor of the homestead, purchasing the interest of his sister, Mrs. John Clopp, who was the only other heir. Subsequently he sold two portions of the farm, but still retained one hundred and twenty acres, which he devoted to general farming. In politics he was a Republican and served several terms as school director, also holding the office of assistant assessor. He affiliated with the Royal Arcanum, of Ligonier, and for sixty years was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, taking an active interest in its work and serving as one of the elders.
