General Notes: Husband - Abraham Brant

He was born on the old pike between Berlin and Cumberland, on the farm of his parents. He had the advantage of a good common school education, and upon arriving at a suitable age learned the trade of a stone mason. Later in life he removed to Ligonier township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased a farm on which he resided. He bought out a woolen mill in 1871 and engaged in the manufacture of yarn, blankets and cloth. The mill was located in Ligonier township and he conducted the operations personally for many years until his death.
He was an active and loyal member of the Evangelical church, and served in all the various offices of that institution. He was a Republican, and was elected to many of the township positions of trust.
