General Notes: Husband - William Brownlee, Sr.

In an early day he came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, from his native land, Scotland, and made a settlement in Franklin township about four miles south of the borough of Washington.

He took up a tract of land in Washington County, Pennsylvania, the warrant for which bears date March, 1785. It was surveyed November 19th of the same year, and named "Virtue," containing three hundred acres adjoining John Virgin, William McCombs, and Dr. Henry Moore.
