General Notes: Husband - William Brandon
He was born in Holland and belonged to the House of Brandenburg. He was a soldier in his own land before coming to the Colonies and serving in the Patriot army through the whole of the Revolutionary War. After its close, he settled in Mercer County, PA, but did not long survive. He and his wife had six sons. [TCHBC, 912]
On April 1, 1776, he enlisted in the Continental army, and served one year and nine months. He participated in the battles of White Plains, Trenton, Princeton and Brandywine, and in 1824 he was granted a pension by the Pennsylvania legislature as a reward for his services in the Revolution. In 1781 he married and in 1798 moved from Adams County to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and located on Wolf creek. Here he and his wife spent the remaining years of their lives. [HBC 1895, 1184]
General Notes: Wife - Sarah Livingston
She came from a French Huguenot family which had escaped from France and gone first to Scotland and subsequently crossed the Atlantic and settled in Eastern Pennsylvania.
