Phillip M. Pierce, 55, 10765 W. Main Road, North East, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at his home. He was born June 17, 1946, in Erie, son of Vivian Shampoe Pierce of North East and the late Merle E. Pierce. He lived most of his life in North East. He worked as a machinist for Bush Industries. He formerly managed First Federal Savings and Loan Association in North East for 15 years. He graduated from North East High School in 1964 and received his degree from Erie Business College. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his former wife, Rena Pierce of North East; a sister, Nancy Pierce of Boise, ID; a half-brother, Kenneth Pierce and his wife, Clara, of East Springfield; and a half-sister, Connie Eckman, of Lawrence Park. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East. A service will be held there Saturday at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Patrick Kennedy. Burial will be at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs Program in care of North East Middle Schoo, Freeport Road, North East, PA 16428.
