General Notes: Husband - John W. Boyer
He grew to manhood in Peters Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he subsequently engaged in farming and stock raising and became widely known through the county as a wool buyer. After marriage, he and his wife first located on a small farm near Bower Hill, in Peters township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where they lived five years, during which time he dealt extensively in stock. He afterward bought 240 acres in Union township, and there he managed a profitable dairy for several years in connection with stock raising. In 1884 he settled in Finleyville, where he lived a comparatively retired life. He erected several elegant dwellings, which contributed largely to improve the appearance of the village. He also bought some wool each year, having formerly made large annual investments in that article. Politically he voted with the Republican party, and in religion was a member of the Baptist Church of Library, Allegheny County.
He was one of the organizers and directors of the First National Bank of Finleyville, which was organized in September, 1902.
