General Notes: Husband - John Franklin Bowser
He was educated in the public schools and Reid Institute, Reidsburg, Pennsylvania. For twenty-five years or more he followed mercantile business. For four years he was an employee of the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railroad Coal Company's store at Rathmel; for seventeen years he was manager of the L. W. Hicks Coal Company's store at Avonmore; and for the last five years, owner and manager of a general store at Summerville. He and his wife were active members of the Presbyterian Church in Avonmore and at Summerville he held the position of a "ruling elder."
