General Notes: Husband - John Henley


He was brought to America by his parents in his boyhood. His father settled at Hillsville, Pennsylvania, where he took part, with other pioneers, in the development of the country.

He was a man of considerable prominence in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, and held many township offices. At one time he was the candidate on the Democratic ticket for membership in the Pennsylvania Legislature, although not elected. He was a member and liberal supporter of the Baptist Church, and was one of the founders and charter members of the church at Hillsville.
