Resided on lands his father gave him, or helped him purchase in 1785, adjoining Means Survey, in North Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was the first of the four brothers to settle in Westmoreland County. He also invested in lands in Ohio which his heirs held after his death.
He was guardian to Alexander McGrew's children in Westmoreland County, and resigned this position Mar. 10, 1800.
