General Notes: Husband - John Boyd

He was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, but was reared and educated in Hopewell township, Washington County. He served in the War of 1812. In early life he learned the carpenter's trade, which he followed many years, and also kept a hotel eight years. He was an ardent Republican and took an active part in public affairs, serving as justice of the peace twenty-five years.
