General Notes: Husband - Hugh Caldwell

He came to America from Scotland, accompanied by two brothers. He served in the revolution with his brothers, one of whom was killed during that conflict, and the other died an accidental death by drowning. [GPHAV, 810]

He and his wife were natives of Ireland, and in early life came to the United States, where their marriage was celebrated. They reared their family of nine children in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Four of his sons moved to Clearfield County at a very early day in its history, and later the other members of the family followed. [CBRCP-CCJC, 726]
