General Notes: Husband - Peter Bowser
He and his wife came to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, from east of the mountains and first located in Franklin township. They obtained a tract of land which they soon traded for 200 acres in Boggs township, and there they erected log buildings and made a permanent home. Mr. Bowser farmed there for the remainder of his life.
He came to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, early in the history of the country and bought land on Pine Creek, two miles east of the Allegheny River. Here he reared a large family.
A native of Bedford County, Pennsylvania, he was a soldier in the Mexican war and after the close of that conflict settled in Armstrong County on a farm. [GPHAV] This seems odd, he would have been rather old to have been a soldier in the Mexican War.
